Bonham Hotel Description
An unobtrusive property, Bonham Hotel has just a small sign and two shrub-filled planters to indicate that it is not just another townhouse in this lovely, mainly residential area.
This stylish boutique hotel is a magnificent blend of old and new, with modern funky colours set against traditional oak panelling. The lobby has purple and black checked carpeting and a spiral seat in the window, as well as comfortable yet traditional lounge seating. The adjacent small meeting room matches this style with an antique ornate fireplace below the modern art on the walls.
Home to a permanent collection of modern Scottish art, the hotel encourages up and coming artists by displaying their works throughout the hotel.
Standard guestrooms, of which there are around 40, have mostly zip link beds, which can be easily converted from oversize twin beds into a huge king-size, offering guests the choice which some other hotels can't.
Rooms are individually decorated and generally use bright colours and matching fabrics. Due to the nature of the building, the rooms differ in size.
Facilities are just what you would expect of such a hotel and all have flat panel televisions, which offer guests Internet access and jukebox music. This is provided on a complimentary basis and guests are only expected to pay for movies. This hotel also has a mini-bar in each room.
Bathrooms are modern, tiled and clean with shower and bath and offer Molton Brown toiletries for guests’ use.
The hotel is launching its newly created designer superior rooms, which are already award winning. They are decorated in black and white with subdued L.E.D lighting and huge windows overlooking the New Town area.
The Bonham has a beautiful yet understated restaurant with the oak panelling, large mirrors and modern artwork. Available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the cuisine is contemporary European with an emphasis on organic and natural ingredients. The hotel has been awarded 2 AA rosettes.
Breakfast is a buffet style with all hot food being cooked to order.
There are 14 free car parking spaces behind the hotel, which are allocated on a strictly first come first served basis. Additional car parking is available on street, although this is metered until 6.30pm. There is a public car park at Haymarket Station where guests can park for under £10 per day. This is approx 5 minutes’ walk from the hotel.

Nice old character hotel, with helpful & friendly staff. Room walls on the thin side and rooms need a bit of a freshening up. Hotel struggles to cope with breakfast service at weekends despite having enough staff in the restaurant. Easy walk into the city.
Top Tip
Easy walk into the city, Royal Yacht Britannia worth a visit, and Wedgewood restaurant a must eat venue. Visit Edinburgh on St Andrews day and major attractions offer free entry.

I love the Bonham - location, decor, restaurant and will continue to recommend.
Reception told me my booking was for a sister hotel (Channing?) That was not indicated in the online booking i made.
No paper receipt when checking out - not good for doing expense claims immediately after a trip.
Top Tip
Grain Store restaurant - excellent food - very nice ambience.
